Injectable Solution
Florfenicol antibacterial injectable solution intended for veterinarians.
Each ml contains 300 mg florfenicol.
Florfenicol is a synthetic antibacterial belonging to the phenicol group.
Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum antibacterial active against many gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria isolated from domestic animals.
Administered by the IM and SC routes in all target species.
Injections must be given only in the neck area. No more than 10 ml should be administered at any one injection site.
A decrease in food intake and temporary softening of the feces may be observed during treatment. However, these signs resolve rapidly and completely after the end of treatment.
Temporary local pain and clinically apparent swelling may be observed at the injection site after intramuscular or subcutaneous administration. Anaphylactic shock has very rarely been reported in cattle.
Florfenicol may interact with other antibiotics that bind to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, such as erythromycin, clindamycin, lincomycin, tylosin and similar agents; concomitant use with these drugs is therefore not recommended.
Meat: 30 days after IM (intramuscular) use, 44 days after SC (subcutaneous) use.
Do not use in lactating cows producing milk for human consumption.
Do not use in adult bulls intended for breeding.
Use in pregnant animals is not recommended.
Store in the original package below 25°C at room temperature, without refrigeration and without freezing.
The bromobutyl stopper on the vial may be pierced up to 20 times; the product should be used within 28 days after first opening.
